The Dunfermline & West Fife Local Plan incorporates all or part of the areas covered by three local plans: Dunfermline & The Coast Local Plan 2002; West Villages Local Plan 2002; West Villages Local Plan Alteration 2006 and the Cowdenbeath Area Local Plan (2006).
The Statement of Intent to Prepare the Dunfermline & West Fife Local Plan was the start of the consultation process. The publication of the Notice of Intention to Start Preparation of the Local Plan was published on 2 October 2007 in local newspapers. A Pre – Plan Consultation was undertaken at the time of publication of the Notice from 2 October 2007 until 30 November 2007. An issues and Options consultation document was also prepared and commented on during 2008. People and groups with an interest in the future development of land within the area are now further invited, to submit representations on the content of the new Local Plan.
