Mid Fife Local Plan Pre-Examination Modifications
The event is not currently available for consultation.
The Mid Fife Local Plan sets out a detailed picture of how Mid Fife should be developed in the period 2008 - 2021. The purpose of the Local Plan is to identify the sites that will be developed and those areas that should be protected from development. It will shape the development of all land and buildings in Mid Fife and will be used to guide day-to-day planning decisions.
The draft Local Plan was published for an 8-week consultation period from October to December 2008. Over 870 representations were received to the suite of Local Plan documents with approximately 800 representations to the Local Plan itself. These covered a variety of issues both supporting and objecting to the content of the Local Plan. All representations have been assessed to ascertain if any modifications require to be made to the Local Plan.
This consultation contains the Pre-Examination Modifications and additional supporting documents. Modifications have been required due to a number of issues including:
- To reflect changes in national planning guidance or policy since the publication of the Draft Local Plan; and
- To conform to the approved Fife Structure Plan that was approved by the Scottish Government after the publication of the draft Local Plan.
In addition, on 1st October Fife Council Planning Committee changed the name of the Kirkcaldy & Mid Fife Local Plan to the Mid Fife Local Plan. The documents associated with the Pre-Examination Modifications have started to introduce this change. The name change will be introduced in new documents as the Local Plan progresses.
